The code is mainly documented by in-line comments, but an overview of its operation is given here so that the interested reader can gain more insight into the capabilities and limitations of the package. This overview will also prove useful as an introduction to the code for anyone wishing to modify or extend it, for instance by adding or replacing modules for indexing given source code languages.
This section is not required reading for users of the package.
