J0841+1311
Radio map
I have now made a first processing of the data from the 10 January
observation of J0841+1311. I find no emission associated with the
X-ray source at all: with a 3 arcsec FWHM beam, the flux density
limit is 100 microJy at 8460 MHz (3 sigma).
8460-MHz map of field of J0841+1311 (PostScript: 145 kB)
Contours are -5, -4, -3, -2, -1, 1, 2, 3, ... 10 time 50 microJy. The
source seen in the field is the NVSS source at 08:41:26.84,
+13:12:07.1, which is now seen to be an asymmetric double (or
possibly a core-jet source). No emission is seen from the
neighbourhood of J0841+1311 (08:41:27.880, +13:11:08.13) itself.
I can hope to do slightly better with this map --- the data show some
level of striping from poor data, sources that I have not correctly
identified, and so on, but I doubt if the results will change much.
We should now concentrate on interpreting this radio faintness and
X-ray brightness of the feature that John Silverman identified, and
I also think that we should put an ApJ Letter together immediately:
with John as first author, of course.
