As Diana says, if we wanted astro-ph (or other) links we would still need to maintain a table matching the IRIS data to a suitable URL -- but this wouldn't be hard to do. To be sure of how much work it would be I'd need to know what the IRIS URL is. There does seem to be an audience out there for our publications pages -- the logs show that there have been about 1,100 requests for pages in that area since summer last year. Of course, we have no idea what use people are making of them, but this does suggest that we might not want to discontinue them altogether. Diana's point about research pages is a good one. I've been trying sporadically to get people to give me contributions or updates to the existing research page, http://www.star.bris.ac.uk/research.html, which is both out of date and dull compared to, say, those of other groups within the physics department. To do research pages properly we would really need a designated person from each of our sub-groups to agree to maintain a separate page, though, and there doesn't seem to be much enthusiasm for this idea out there...
