SAMP/PLASTIC applications
GAIA and SPLAT are applications originally developed within the Starlink
project, and now looked after by the
Joint Astronomy Centre in Hawaii.
The main author of both is
Peter Draper, at Durham.
I have added
PLASTIC, and then
SAMP functionality which allows them
to interoperate with other astronomical applications.
The public releases of these tools contain this functionality.
The tools can be found here:
- SPLAT
- A GUI spectral display and analysis application written in
Java with some native code.
It has many features including Virtual Observatory interoperability.
It forms part of the starjava package, or can be downloaded as a
standalone package.
- GAIA
- A GUI image visualisation and analysis application written in
Tcl and other languages. It can only be downloaded as part of a full
Starlink release.
